Built as Selly Park Hall in the early 19th century, it was later known as The Generalate. It is now St Paul's Convent. Which is where the Sisters of the Charity of St Paul the Apostle are based.

St Paul's Convent, Selly Park - history
Selly Park Hall (or Selly Hall) was built after 1780 (it existed by 1786), the architect was probably Samuel Wyatt.
It later gave it's name to the surrounding area (Selly Park), and the parkland (now Selly Park Recreation Ground, also called Selly Hill Park).

In 1864 the English Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St Paul moved here under foundress Mother Geneviève Dupuis.

The Conventual Buildings were started in 1877 under the chaplain, Father William Tandy through the architect A E Dempster.

The Novitiate Block dates to 1880 also by Dempster, tt was later extended by Cossins, Peacock & Bewlay from 1898-1900.

The Lodge is Puginian and faces Selly Park Road.

The Courtyard Wing with a massive tower was by G B Cox from 1932, while the Chaplain's House of 1929 also by Cox.

The Chapel is linked to the convent by H T Sandy of 1914.

It looks like Conventional Gothic on the outside with a turret, stone arcades across transepts with octagonal piers and Gothic side altars date to 1924.

Stained glass was by Hardmans made from 1922 to 1929.
