Dovecote - history

The Moseley Hall Dovecote was built in the 18th century, but the exact date is not known.

Built of red brick with three stories in an octagonal shape.

By the 1840s it had been adapted for general farm use and the ground floor converted to two pig sties, while the upper part used as storage rooms.

Was plans for demolition in 1933, but public petitions for the dovecote was successful, and was saved with the cow house.

Plans for restoration by 1939, but was suspended due to the outbreak of WW2.

It wasn't until the 1980s that it was restored.

The Dovecote is now in the care of the Moseley Society.
