In brief
The station opened as Earlswood Lakes in 1908, it was later renamed to Earlswood in 1974, despite being located close to Foreshaw Heath. The Lakes Station is closer to Earlswood village. Today the station is convenient for shoppers going to Earlswood Garden & Landscape Centre (it also has a café). Trains at Earlswood are hourly. It is on the Solihull, West Midlands border with the district of Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire.

Earlswood Station - details
This station was originally called Earlswood Lakes in 1908, later renamed to Earlswood in 1974, the next stop called The Lakes is a request stop, and is closer to the actual Earlswood Lakes.

London Midland managed this station until December 2017, when West Midlands Railway took over.

Not much facilities here, there is a car park, shelters, and raised platform sections for wheelchair users, but no ticket office or ticket machine (you can now buy your tickets in the West Midlands Railway app).

There is two platforms, platform 1 for trains towards Henley-in-Arden and Stratford-upon-Avon, while platform 2 for trains towards Shirley, Tyseley, Birmingham Moor Street / Snow Hill and onto the Worcester stations.

Trains are hourly in both directions seven days a week.

No footbridge at the station, just ramps to both platforms from Forshaw Heath Road, with this bridge view.

Trains
Getting off West Midlands Railway 172 338 at Earlswood, in late December 2017. Shortly after the London Midland franchise ended. This train continued onto Stratford-upon-Avon.

By the time you have come back from Earlswood Garden & Landscape Centre, around an hour later is the next West Midlands Railway service, in this case 172 343 to Stratford-upon-Avon.

West Midlands Railway 172 338 returns from Stratford-upon-Avon around an hour after it was last at Earlswood, to pick you up and take you back into Birmingham.
