History of The Crown on Broad Street

The Crown Inn was a public house in Broad Street, Birmingham, England. Built in 1781, it was rebuilt in 1883, 1930 and 1991. It is Grade II listed. It was the brewery tap for William Butler's brewery, whose Victorian building survived at the rear of The Crown until 1987.

It's next to the Birmingham Canal Navigations Mainline and is close to The ICC Birmingham. The sash windows on the first and second floors are from the 1781 building. The architect for the 1883 work was William Jenkins, for the 1930 work, E F Reynolds, and in Alan Goodwin & Associates, who added a west façade described by the architectural critic Andy Foster as "cheap". Since the early 2000s, it has operated as part of a chain of 1980s themed nightclubs under the name "Reflex".

The A-Team

Mr T was in the window of Reflex The 80's Bar during 2009. He played the character B. A. Baracus in the famous 80's action TV series.

Transformers

From at least the summer of 2011, until now, there is a figure of a Transformer to the left of Reflex The 80's Bar. Looks a bit like Soundwave, who was a Decepticon, but has Autobot symbols on here. So maybe it's a made up Transformer called Reflex?
