In brief

The Silversmiths at Vittoria & Unity Works will be given a new lease of life with the delivery of 34 loft-style accommodation, a new build, and a commercial unit.

Dating back to 1865, during the reign of Queen Victoria, the Grade II listed building will be delicately restored to its former glory in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter. Facilitating some of the most spacious apartments in Birmingham, each will be provided with a trendy, authentic, industrial aesthetic.

The only demolition to take place will be to the site’s rear shopping wings; this will provide more space for the site’s three courtyards and the new build.

Vittoria Works (30-34) will provide 8 spacious two and three-bedroom apartments of 48-148sqm; alongside a ground floor commercial unit (26.4sqm) & a modern industrial 4-storey new build comprising 3 one & two-beds (42-110sqm).

Unity Works (46-46) will also provide 23 one-, two- & three-bedroom in sizes ranging from 55-111sqm.

Three hard landscaped courtyards are provided, with one providing car spaces for seven and an electric charging point; the other two seeing residents’ space. In one courtyard, the original structural beams and wheels will be retained as a reminder of the plots' original use.

Secure rear covered cycle spaces is to be provided for 14 bicycles.
