Sherbourne Mill - history
James Baldwin & Sons established their second paper mill here as Sherbourne Mill in the 19th century (the other one was in Ladywood on Morville Street / Browning Street, now flats).

This one on the Kings Norton estate was sold by the family to a syndicate and it became an independent paper making firm, the Kings Norton Paper Mill Ltd, while the Baldwins concentrated their work back at the Birmingham site. But KNPM Ltd business closed in 1967.

Much of the mill was demolished, and what remains now is operated as a small business park. For a time the Patrick Collection of vintage cars was housing in the main building for a time. The site is not generally open to members of the public.

The mill pool and millrace survives to this day. You can see it from the towpath of the Stratford-on-Avon Canal (also called Stratford-upon-Avon Canal).
